Smokey Bay Brand Canned Salmon Mug

The images are screen prints that are transferred using newsprint. I use underglazes as the screen printed image, these images are brushed with colored slips and then are burnished onto the clay. In the glaze process I brush oxides and to give the mugs a patina. The concept is based on the old canned salmon labels, which tell a story of time and place in history. My themes are play on salmon skeleton and the day of the dead holiday and Homer as a location.
